Luna’s Salsa & Salsa began simply—with a homemade salsa shared among friends and family. I would bring my salsa to parties and gatherings, and everyone kept asking for the recipe I had from my ancestors and requesting that I bring more.

After seeing how much everyone enjoyed it, my children became interested in starting a small business so they could save for something big that they wanted. What began almost like a fun family game, an opportunity to teach them how to earn and save their own money, quickly became something more. I suggested that I could make the salsa while they sold it around our neighborhood.

It was very exciting for them and such a success that I soon began offering it to more friends and family. As the business continued to grow, many people encouraged me to sell my salsa at local farmers markets.

I started with just one variety, but as I met more customers, I realized that everyone has different tastes and preferences. Inspired by their feedback, I continued creating new flavors to satisfy a variety of palates.

That is how a homemade salsa and a fun lesson for my children grew into the five unique salsas we proudly offer today.
